Whoa…really? Dystopian? Not Archie, though! Angst-y, yes….don’t remember alot about the Green Lantern, etc.

And I can attest that the 70’s were pretty much a BLAST.
Besides Vietnam and Watergate, of course.
And extreme inflation. And American cars whose bumpers rotted and fell off within 5 years.

But it was pretty much all happiness in the arts….especially music. Or at least innocent earnestness. Maybe after we get beyond this 50’s (yuck) and 80’s retro thing, we can revisit the 70’s….you guys will love it!
Disco inferno, baby. Total unconscious kitschiness, glitter and polyester. Oh-and wide ties and tight perms for you guys. And gold chains. And platforms! (Platforms are de rigeur.) Hee-hee.

Actually, I’m a little jealous of you all….it was a great time to be young….

Say both: I am a (sculptor, printmaker, painter, performance artist…) and I have a straight job as a (teacher, clerk, lawyer, copy editor…). We must educate our acquaintances.

She and I were at CalArts together. The funny thing I always remember was her quitting the art department the first week of school and switching to Experimental Animation — which my profs said maybe she “wasn’t cut out for the fine arts”. I followed that same path a year later, we learned more art-wise doing animation than sitting in critique classes in the art dept.

I’m sure there are now a bunch of people busily looking up art songs…see what you started?

Seriously, I wish iTunes would let you listen to a song all the way through, at least once, instead of just giving you a snippet!
I’d personally be more likely to buy them if I’d been able to actually listen to the whole thing….

Thanks again…a nice, lighthearted break from winter life….think I”ll go listen to some Jimmy Buffett….

My only issue with the Nesnadny+Schwartz program, is they always seem to choose a large % of people who have already had pieces in a museum exhibition. Makes me wonder why I should keep bothering to submit if that’s how they roll.
